Incredibile roast with an asian twist!
Came on a sunday to celebrate a birthday and booked the entire top floor room as we were group of 11..
The roast was incredible! It had an amazing flavour that moves slightly away from traditional flavours as it added a but of chinese taste to it.
Menu changes weekly which makes it interesting to come back.
Service was really attentive too.
Roast prices are around 23£ per person so a bit pricey but you definitely pay for quality.
Matcha tiramisu was delicious!
Drinks prices are average but you get good quality in return..
Would surely recommend booking as there aren’t many tables and gets booked easily.
went for sunday roast by Ling Ling and was so yum! have never had an Asian twist on a roast and was pleasantly surprised by the ginger and garlic notes in the gravy. highlight was actually a starter, the hash browns with tofu cream and fish roe 😍 lovely service and atmosphere too
Great food, great atmosphere of an typical English pub which I highly recommend
Really enjoyed it!! We shared 8 plates between 4 of us. We all loved the Chicken wings, broccoli, radish and the Tofu wanton. The pork was a disappointment. Great service and atmosphere until the music got WAY too loud - we resorted to shouting at each other.
Had Sunday roast here and the food was delicious and cannot fault it. The tiramisu was especially delicious and amazing portion size. However I would not recommend booking outside for a roast unless it’s just for drinks. We were directed outside for our booking although the benches were sopping wet and it was still raining. Service started off frosty but improved as the meal went on. Would return for the delicious food but would sit inside as benches were uncomfortable and heaters temperamental.
My favourite place in Hackney and maybe even my favourite pub all together.
Excellent selection of beers and IPAs, small selection of classic cocktails with a unique twist - not to mention outstanding DJs Friday through to Sunday. This place is truly iconic and such a beacon of light in the otherwise rather bleak London landscape of free music venues.
The food by Ling Lings is outstanding with its Chinese / Korean / Vietnamese sharing dishes in the restaurant upstairs, Wednesday to Sunday. Their own take on the Sunday roast is to die for and has been voted number 4 in London!
Loved this pub. I can't believe we hadn't been there before. We've lived in the area since March and last night was our 1st visit. At the moment they have a Korean restaurant pop up and the food was incredibly good. Every single plate was delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the dishes from the menu. The pub is also very good. Low lights, red candles on the tables, excellent music, fast and very friendly staff.
Great Boozer. The Meltdown Cheeseburgers pop up on 19/04/2023 served up one of the best burgers I've had. Hope they become a regular fixture!
